Let's start our reviews of board games with a gentle and romantic game, Bird catcher.

This story is about Prince Dan, who is in love with a wonderful princess, and under the impression of his feelings to her, wants to give a gift to her of all his songbirds in beautiful little birdcages.

But his gift is wrapped in a completely unattractive package, because the princess is against bondage and ready to listen to the beautiful birdsong only in conditions the birds’ freedom.

We are the bird catchers who must work faster than the prince and deliver three birds to the garden of princess. The birds will be released there and the princess will enjoy birdsong, but this is another the fairytale.

This game is a race board game in which the object is to be the first to move all one's pieces to the end of a track.

Set up:

Each player chooses three birds of the same color and places them on the playing field (where the squares of the corresponding color are marked).

How to play:

The youngest player starts the game and should proceed clockwise after his or her turn. When it is your turn, throw the dice once and move forward as many steps as the dice shows you. Don't start with the next bird until the first one has reached its goal.

If you step on a red tile with a cage on it, Prince Dan capture you and you have to miss the next throw.

If you step on a tile with a bird already on it, fly over it- move forward to the next free tile!

If you can't move forward with either of your birds and you can't start with a new bird, you have to miss that round, and it is the next player's turn to throw.

The goal of the game:

The player who can get all three of his birds to the princess before the other players, wins the game. The remaining players con- tinue until all the birds reach the goal.

Contents: 1 game board, 4x3 coloured birds, 1 number dice, 1 canvas bag

Good luck and have fun with the game!
