My book recommendation for Christmastime is “The Nutcracker”. I chose this book with amazing illustrations by Valeria Docampo. The well-known story is perfect for Christmas reading. In my family we have tradition to visit New York City Ballet on Christmas Eve. This fantastic ballet production of George Balanchine gives magical mood. This year we will skip our tradition due to covid-19, but enjoy reading the book.
A little bit funny, a little bit little sad, but such a real story about friendship and love no matter what.
Bear and Squirrel are two very different characters, big and small, with opposing interests, but their love for one another goes across the margins of their differences and binds them together as very perfect friends. Maybe this is secret of real frienship?
The book is told in a lyrical format and accompanied by cute and simple yet striking artwork.
I would like to advice for reading this charming book not only children, also their parents, some friends who they face each other's differences. This story is an object lesson in friendship and love.
